Hand drip. Those were the words that caught my attention. I decided to check it out as I love coffee, especially Japanese coffee. In Japan, such places are available everywhere. The standards there are very high. This is one of the few available in Singapore but the number is increasing.
And yes, there was a queue. Fortunately, it was a short one. My Japanese friend and I waited in line and when we got to our seat, we both ordered the coffee which was slightly sour but nice. I imagine the hot water coming out of a long nozzle at just the right temperature, soaking the grinded coffee beans, bringing out the flavour and dripping the coffee into a cup, resulting in a perfect cup of coffee — hand drip! I would certainly come back here for the coffee again. The souffle was also good — slightly crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Yokatta desu! This is my little piece of Japan in Singapore. A couple of the waiters here were also Japanese and my friend who is Japanese, ordered the items for us in Japanese.
The only thing I dislike is the long queue here and the queue is longer than at some of the other places. On days that they are really busy, they stop receiving customers as early as 9pm.
The place also serves lunch and dinner and hence it is more a restaurant than a cafe.
